Jason Pryor

Resident Epee Coach

Jason Pryor is an accomplished fencer and coach from Cleveland, Ohio. He began his fencing journey in the boiler room of Northeast Ohio and quickly rose through the ranks to become a standout athlete at The Ohio State University, where he was a key member of the 2008 NCAA Championship team. Following his collegiate success, Jason was selected as a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, competing as an Olympic hopeful.

Jason’s fencing achievements are extensive, including representing the United States at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, where he placed 22nd in individual épée. He is a five-time FIE World Championship team member, the 2015 Division I National Champion, and a decorated competitor at the Pan American Fencing Championships, earning individual bronze and team gold medals. Additionally, he claimed individual bronze and team silver at the Pan American Games.

Besides his duties as a resident coach at Marx Fencing Academy, Jason is also the Assistant Épée Coach at Harvard University, where he contributes his competitive experience and tactical expertise to one of the nation’s top collegiate programs. As a coach, he also led the United States épée team at the 2019 Pan American Games, guiding the women’s team to gold in both team and individual events.

With nearly four years of experience as a personal trainer, Jason has coached hundreds of clients across diverse disciplines, from sport-specific performance in fencing to bodybuilding. His holistic approach emphasizes unlocking athletes’ full movement potential and maximizing performance.

Jason is excited to bring his expertise as both a fencing coach and trainer to Marx Fencing Academy, where he is dedicated to fostering athletic excellence and helping athletes achieve their goals on and off the piste.
